Grief in surviving pets – how to help a grieving cat

Looking to find out if animals grieve, or how to help a grieving cat?

Although grief in animals is not well understood currently, you may recognise changes in behaviour in your cats, which may be attributed to grief. While the question of ‘do animals grieve?’ has been widely debated, some animals show varying degrees of grief-attributed behaviour. Others may show no outward signs at all.

In a multiple cat household, the death of a cat can lead to surviving cats showing less inhibition and a new willingness to seek attention from their owner.

While it is important to remember that each cat will behave differently in their grief, there are some common behaviours that may be seen while a cat adjusts to the death of a housemate.

These include:

changes in appetite
changes in sleep patterns
unsettled, restless, wandering around
increase or decrease in confidence
searching and crying
increased or reduced interest in other activities
loss of confidence or a general sadness
attention seeking
in contrast, a pet may not appear to be missing the deceased pet at all
increased use of space in the house

How can I help my cat grieve?

If your cat has died, you’re likely to be worried about the cat that is left behind. Helping pets cope with death can be tricky – their grief is as individual as it would be for you, or any other family member. If you’re worried about how to help a grieving cat, you can try the following:

Stick to a familiar routine. This is helpful in helping your cat adjust to the change in the household

Avoid spending increasing amounts of time with an existing cat following the death of your pet – an increase in attention can be stressful and intense, combined with the potential stress of losing their companion

Think before you introduce another pet into your household. It usually takes some time for cats to settle and for a relationship to form. Assessing your cat’s needs is important at this time when the remaining cat is adjusting to the change

Do cats know when another cat is dying?

There is no evidence to suggest whether cats are aware that their feline friend is dying, and all cats are different in their behaviour.  When Jasper my elderly cat was nearing his end, we had 5 kittens and one of them didn’t leave Jasper’s side for about a year.  Jasper went blind instantly overnight and Minnie used to lay with Jasper and follow him around, Minne really really loved Jasper.  When Jasper was very poorly at the end, Minnie used to sort of ‘talk to Jasper’ by making little chirruping sounds.  I know that Minnie misses Jasper.  And I pay extra attention to Minnie for being such a lovely girl to Jasper.  She’s one of the timidest out of the three feral kittens we rescued from my mum’s garden.  And she was the last to be caught so she is warier of humans than Kiki and Coco, her brother and sister.

In some cases, cats seem to understand that the other cat is experiencing pain. They may show this by either acting distressed on their behalf or by appearing sad or withdrawn. Or,  as previously stated they can actually seek out and take care of the other pet. 

However, some cats can appear indifferent to their fellow cats who are ill.

Should I show the dead body of my pet to my surviving cat?

If your cat has died from a cause that doesn’t pose a risk of infection to other cats, and you feel comfortable doing so, you can show your cat the body of your deceased cat. There is, however, no studies to suggest that this aids the grieving process in your cat. And it’s not something personally I would do.  Jasper was cremated after he was put to sleep so I didn’t have that issue, however, Freddie one of my other cats got run over earlier last year and we buried him in the garden but I wouldn’t have dreamt of showing the other cats his body.  But take what you need, what’s right for me, is not necessarily be what’s right for you <3 

Should I get a new pet to keep my cat company?

Before you think about getting another cat as a companion for your current cat, it is important to think carefully. Grief is entirely personal to you – you might find that you want to adopt another cat almost immediately or wait until you have come to terms with your loss. Don’t rush the experience – do what is best for you.

It is also important to remember that while your cat might display behaviour changes and even appear to miss their feline friend, cats do not need companions to be happy. In fact, cats prefer mostly to live on their own due to their solitary nature. However, I have 9 cats now and they all live perfectly happily together with the exception of Lenny and Lulu who I can’t leave unsupervised with our other cats as they are really nasty to my elder cats.  So at bedtime, they sleep in my daughter’s bedroom separate from the rest of the cats and if I need to go anywhere else they are either in the bedroom or in the kitchen away from the others

Is Staying In Your Comfort Zone Holding You Back?

We’ve heard a lot about getting out of our comfort zone. But have you ever thought about why you should? After all, our comfort zone is where we feel in control and safe. It’s where we can predict what will happen and how we will feel. There won’t be any surprises, that we can’t deal with.

So why would you feel compelled or even want to get out of your comfort zone? You need to do it because getting out of your comfort zone is the key to your personal growth and happiness. Stepping out of that zone helps you build up your self-confidence and the way you view yourself.

Is being there holding you back for living a fulfilled life and growing in our career?

The answer is yes. Being in your comfort zone and staying there is keeping you from realizing and achieving what you desire. Staying safely within your comfort zone keeps you from being challenged and you don’t have to rise to any new occasions.

Here are 3 ways of staying in your comfort zone is holding you back.

It’s keeping you from growing personally. When you are afraid of something, staying in your comfort zone keeps you from facing that fear. Then you suffer from it forever or until you do face it. You stay away from situations that would put you in a position of having to face the fear in order to overcome it.

For example, your fear of public speaking keeps you from taking a job that requires you to speak in front of others, even though it’s a step up on your career ladder.

You comfort zone is keeping you from being happy. Maybe you struggle with self-confidence and self-esteem issues. These problems can grow unless you take steps outside your comfort zone to begin addressing them. Stepping outside your comfort zone helps you build confidence in your self and see yourself in a better light.

When you are confident and have good self-esteem, you are happier. For example, if you’re not confident in your abilities, you tend to stay in your comfort zone instead of trying something new. This drags down your confidence making you feel less competent and making you unhappy.

Staying in your comfort zone can make you feel trapped and unhealthy. Often our comfort zone keeps us doing bad habits out of fear. You might want to be more active, run a marathon, feel fewer aches and pains and go on adventures. But to do any of these things means doing something that is outside your comfort zone.

For example, you want to run a short marathon. It’s always been a dream of yours, but you procrastinate and make excuses why you can’t. You’re too out of shape. You don’t have time. You’re too old. But the real reason is that you are afraid to get out of your comfort zone and begin training with a trainer. As a result, you continue to eat unhealthily, gain weight, lose muscle tone and put your dream on the back burner until eventually, you’re health becomes a problem.

When we stay in our comfort zone, we are holding ourselves back from living a life we love, from being happy and from growing. We end up letting our fears rule and settling for mediocrity.

What is Tapping?

Tapping, also known as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), is a powerful stress relief technique. Tapping is based on the combined principles of ancient Chinese acupressure and modern psychology.

Studies have shown that Tapping decreases cortisol (often called the stress hormone) in your body. The World Health Organization has announced that stress is the health epidemic of the 21st century.

So How Does It All Work?
The basic Tapping technique requires you to focus on a negative emotion at hand. This can be a fear, a worry, or any unresolved problem. While maintaining your mental focus on this issue, you use your fingertips to tap 5-7 times on 9 specific meridian points of the body (more specific information on this below).

Tapping on meridian points sends a calming signal to the brain, letting your brain know it’s safe to relax. So, for example, when you receive bad news from your boss or you begin to worry about future events, it triggers a part of your brain called the amygdala.

When you think of the amygdala, one word should come to mind:

Fear.

This part of the brain is responsible for triggering the stress response in our bodies, releasing stress-related hormones into the bloodstream. Also popularly known as the fight-or-flight response, it is the body’s natural reaction to a perceived threat.

The problem is, we tend to have our amygdala in charge way more often than we want.

The amygdala’s response is effective when you’re faced with real-life danger but damaging when you want to feel calm and confident during a high-stakes meeting. And most of the time when this is happening in your body, you aren’t experiencing the fight-or-flight (or freeze) response for the same reason that our ancestors did long ago were. There is no tiger in the woods, but the response in your body is still the same.

Tapping on these meridian points (the same used in acupressure) while you think about what is causing you stress helps your mind understand that you are not in any physical danger and it is safe to relax, reducing cortisol levels.

Tapping gives you the opportunity to bring your life back into balance and reduce stress around your relationships, finances, weight, pain, fears, and so much more.

How To See & Feel Energy

What is an AURA?

First things first. A basic answer is that the aura is a living energy field that surrounds all living creatures. We are all made up of energy. Even though your body feels solid it is actually made of energy waves vibrating in a certain way. Everything we see and feel is made of energy and molecules clustering together to create their unique pattern that you can identify. Our auras reflect who we are and they extend out from the body. Everybody is different and there is no real set length that they extend. It can be anything between 1 and 5 feet. This can also depend upon our mood, our state of mind etc.

READING AURAS

As you know, the aura surrounds everyone and this energy field is like a magnet. It can pick up the vibrational energies that are floating around everywhere you go.

Your vitality and wellbeing depend on maintaining a healthy aura. Ill-health, emotional upset and turmoil as well as food, drink, any drugs, medicinal or otherwise, our environment, all affect the aura.

Now you can see why it is important to keep your aura in tip-top condition. One of the most important things we can do for ourselves is to cleanse our auras regularly. This will help keep out negative effects from our environment and other people. I use an essence called Astral Clear and I put a few drops on the palms of my hands and then smooth from the top of my head right down my body until I get to my feet, I smooth and ‘fluff’ my aura every morning. (sounds like I’m talking about a cushion doesn’t it saying I fluff my aura, but I can’t think of a better way of explaining it unless you saw me do an actual demonstration of it.

FEELING AURAS

Now you’ve read about what the aura is you’ll probably want to have a go at feeling the aura. It is quite easy to feel the aura and most people are really surprised at how easy it can be felt. Firstly, you need to find a willing person to practice on.

Ask them to sit on a chair where you can stand behind them.

Do you remember the energy exercise I told you about where you rub your hands together and then slowly (palms in front of you, facing each other (as if you were going to clap) then slowly push your hands together and you will find a resistance, that’s energy and you’re feeling energy. It is the same with the aura, rub your hands together and do as I said above, stand behind a person who’s sat down and go above their head and slowly lower your hands until you feel ‘a resistance’ as I call it.

Hold your hands about two feet over the top of their head, close your eyes and slowly allow your hands to move down towards the top of their head until you find contact with their aura. In most cases, this will be between 2 – 6 inches from the top of their head.

The aura will feel different to everyone, however, generally, you will know when you have found the aura as you will be able to feel one or more of the following: – tingling sensation – coolness – warmth – resistance – a rush of air, for me, it’s the ‘resistance’ feeling as that’s how I feel the energy a lot of the time.

Once you have found the aura over the top of the head keep your hands so they are just in contact with it then slowly see if you can follow from the top of the head down the side of the head and over the shoulders. That’s all there is to it! Simples!!

It may take some practice, the same as anything else, but once you’ve done it once you’ll find it easy to do again. Once you feel confident enough, try to find different people to practice on.
You will feel the difference in other people’s aura which all change with how they are feeling health-wise and emotionally etc.

METHODS FOR READING AURAS

There are various different methods. I will give you a couple to get you started and see if they suit you. Feel free to find your own unique way.

SEEING THE AURA FROM YOUR FINGERTIPS

Although it might take a bit of practice, once you get the hang of it you will be able to see the aura fairly easily. I am not talking about picking up the sensations with psychic senses, but actually seeing with your own physical eyes.

Some people can sense the auras rather than see them, others can feel them as heat or cold or buzzing sensations rather than see them (with me it’s the resistance I’ve told you about.

First, make yourself nice and comfortable and relaxed. Try to find a room that is dimly lit, but not dark. Bringing your index fingers together almost but not quite touching. Now, look at the space between the fingers. While you do this allow your eyes to defocus slightly so you are not looking at it in a hard way. In a short space of time, you will be able to see a light hazy mist going from one finger to the other. Just practice this on yourself for a while so that you are confident you can see the most/energy. You are then ready to try to see other people’s auras. Try practising on anyone that will let you!

SEEING ANOTHER PERSON’S AURA

To work with another person you will need to be about 6 feet away from them. It is usually better if you can manage to have them with a neutral coloured background – grey or black is best but cream can work too. Just as long as the colour is not vibrant. Again the room needs to be dimly lit. This is not for any mystical reason at all. It is simply because it takes away distractions whilst you are learning. The energy is very subtle and until you are more accomplished in seeing the aura the fewer distractions the better!
Again, defocus your eyes and look at your subject without staring.

It is best to look at the area around the head. Although if you have practised on yourself before this you should now be able to see the bluey/whitish outline around the whole body (the etheric aura).
Don’t’ worry if you can’t see it straight away – practice will help. This outline sometimes looks as if it is shimmering – much like looking at a road on a sunny day and you see a heat haze rising.

Many do not see it the first time if you look directly where it is. Then like magic, the aura will seem to appear. This can take from 10 seconds to 2 minutes. Once you see the aura try not to get too excited lol or blink – keep relaxed and don’t look directly at it or it will ‘disappear’.

Keep your eyes focussed. Practice and you’ll soon see it 🙂

After you have trained your eyes you can look directly at the aura without losing it. Once you can see the outline, keep looking in that disinterested way and you should see colours starting to build outwards from the etheric aura (emotional aura). If you concentrate on the edge of the etheric aura (the blue/white edge around the body), again eyes slightly out of focus, you should soon be able to make out colours of the emotional aura. As said before the depth or intensity of the aura very much depends upon the vitality of the person. Therefore, you could see anything from a couple of inches to a couple of feet.

Like everything else in life, your skill will improve with practice. If you watch people who do Facebook lives or online videos that is a really good way to see their aura, just let your eyes totally relax and glaze over and you’ll see the aura. I’ve only just started to see colour within the last few days. But I’m going to keep practising so I will be able to see colours fairly clearly from now on.

SEEING AURA AROUND PLANTS AND TREES

Relax in the same way you have done for seeing auras around yourself and others. Get a bowl of flowers or a plant. Gently gaze beyond the flowers or the tree with a soft gaze as before. The aura will soon be seen as energy.

If you can look at treetops this is also a good way to develop your skill.

WHY CAN’T I SEE THE AURA

For most people, it takes time and practice. There are a few that are able to see the aura very quickly but for the majority of people, it takes a bit longer. Initially, we try too hard to see the aura. This is one of the things that you should try to avoid. It is very difficult as I can remember how excited I was when first trying. However, the trick is to relax, more like daydreaming, rather than straining. Seeing the aura is a technique that can be learned by most people. It is not a gift to some select few and not to others. It is simply a matter of practice, practice, PRACTICE!!!!

I will tell you more about what the colours mean another time, first practice seeing the actual aura first and I’ll keep practising to see colours and we’ll take it from there.

SMUDGING ~ SPACE CLEARING & CLEARING NEGATIVE ENERGY. (it’s a perfect time to do this after a Full Moon)

Smudging is an ancient ritual which cleanses and purifies the air and the energy around you, your home, your work or anything else you want to clear energetically.

The use of dried white sage, however, is a 2,000-year-old Indigenous American practice. The shamans used dried sage plants on their fires as a ritual of calling upon ancestral spirits.

Any conflict, anger, illness or evil was absorbed by the sage smoke to be released or cleansed from the energy field of a person and transmuted with love.

Some ideal (or necessary) times to sage smudge your aura and/or space, home office, sacred space etc would be:

When you move into a new home and you want to clear the energy.

When you begin a new job or start your own business

Before and after a guest enters your home

Before and after a healing session

Before meditation

After an argument or any illness or any general negativity that is going on in your home, office, sacred space or in your life in general!

When you return home from crowded situations

THERE ARE THREE EASY WAYS TO DO IT

  1. Use loose dried white sage or a white ceremonial sage bundle (aka wand), which is usually bound together by some string. I will put a photo of mine in the comments below.

You can find sage bundles at your local metaphysical shop or I get mine online from Amazon or eBay. You could make one out of dried sage but I haven’t ever done that myself (yet) 🙂

  1. Next, place it on any heat-proof burning surface like a shell or a little dish.

Light the bundle by holding a flame to it until it begins to smoke. I usually blow on it so it’s just glowing, (you don’t want a flame coming off it because it would be dangerous, so please be careful doing this). A lot of the time I find that I have to re-light my sage bundle as I’m walking through the house as it can go out but don’t worry about that. I also use White Sage Incense Sticks or Palo Santo Sticks (again I get these from Amazon).

  1. Once you have a nice smoke going, use your hand or a feather to direct the smoke over your body from your feet up to your head, then back down again. As you do this, visualize the smoke removing any unwanted negative energies from your energy body.

There are various things you can say when smudging but it doesn’t matter what you do say as long as you make a clear intention that you are removing all negative energies that do not serve you. Some people like to say things like:

“Into this smoke, I release all energies that do not serve me, all negativity that surrounds me and my home and loved ones. I release it all with love, and so it is!”

Once you have smudged your body, begin to move through your house or area you are smudging. Wave the smoke into all corners, across doorways and into the dark shadow spaces. I usually put the Reiki symbols in each of the corners of each room but smudging is enough to clear the energy).

I keep saying the prayer or incantation as I’m walking through the house as it keeps me focused on the intention that I’ve made.

Once the space is cleared, allow the sage bundle to either burn out or gently press it out in your heat-proof shell or container.

So that’s how easy it is to smudge and clear the energy in your space.

WTF IS PSYCHIC ATTACK?

WTF IS PSYCHIC ATTACK???

Psychic attack is a very loose term for different types of negative energy being directed at you, either intentionally or unintentionally.

Psychic attack can be from one individual to another or it could be a group attack and that would generate more energy because of the group as a collective and the power of their intentions would be multiplied.

An intentional psychic attack can come in the forms of cords, curses, black magic, someone wishing you harm either physically, emotionally or both & any other negative thought forms.

Cords can be thick like rope or even like barbed wire. You know generally that if you are corded from behind it has been done intentionally. You can cut cords yourself or get an energy worker to cut the cords for you.

Negative thoughts directed at someone are a form of psychic attack. An example might be something like jealousy, maybe your neighbour got a new car or you got overlooked for a promotion at work or you have been betrayed by a partner because they cheated on you and had an affair with someone else. If you feel angry and resentful towards that person or people, and start thinking of ways to pay them back, to get even, any form of revenge is a low vibrational energy and will result in psychic attack (not to mention the karma that will come back and bite you on the ass).

The power of your thoughts and intention are so powerful.

We are all human and we all have human moments when we are mad at someone, or maybe feel annoyed or jealous, but it’s so important to always remember that your thoughts are energetic and where intention goes, energy flows.

Keep your thoughts as positive as possible and be conscious of what you actually are thinking.

It is our job to protect our own energy by properly getting grounded and protected each and every day and cutting cords each day with ‘whatever does not serve us for our highest and greatest good’.

It is not a bad thing to do, to cut cords with people. It’s good energy hygiene.

It is also imperative to have good energetic boundaries in place, especially from people who drain your energy.

I don’t really like calling these people energy vampires as it’s assuming that they are doing it on purpose and sometimes that is not the case at all. They might just be in a bad place and you pick up on their energy.

We can protect our energy in lots of different ways. We can visualise ourselves in a bubble of high vibrational white light and intend that nothing can penetrate the bubble unless it is of the highest and purest vibrational light.

We can ask our Spirit Guides and the Angels to help protect us. You can call upon Archangel Michael each day and ask him to come into your energy body to cut all cords that don’t serve you.

You can also ask for St Germain to blaze his violet flame right through your energy body, blazing away any negativity.

You can have a Reiki shower, draw the Reiki symbols above the shower and intend that all negative energy is being washed down the plug hole.

You can shield yourself by visualising a shield around your body, you can make the shield reflective so that anything that is sent to you is bounced right back to the person sending. (I personally don’t like that method as I always have ‘karma’ in the back of my mind.

Also, as I said previously, having good boundaries with people is good energy hygiene too.

SO HOW DO I KNOW IF I’M UNDER PSYCHIC ATTACK?

I know if I’m feeling different to how I normally feel and if it goes on for a few days, that I may be under some form of psychic attack. If I feel emotions that aren’t normally mine, if I feel teary or depressed or anxious, have bad dreams or nightmares and things generally start going wrong for me, or if I feel as if I’m being watched, I then start to think I might be under psychic attack. I can also sense the energy around me is different and denser, I can’t really explain that but it literally feels to me like I’ve got a dark cloud around me and I actually feel as if I’m suffocating if it’s extreme.

Objects can move or break too. It depends on the severity of the attack and the extent of the intention behind it.

WHAT DO YOU FEEL WHEN YOU’RE UNDER PSYCHIC ATTACK?

The first thing I would do is ask someone to check me out to see if I’ve been the subject of some form of psychic attack or whether I’ve picked up some negative energy from somewhere (like a hospital or nursing home where maybe there maybe spirits who attach themselves to your aura/energy body). Then, I cut cords with everyone and keep cutting cords. I have an Epsom salt bath, sage and smudge the house, give myself Reiki and do everything I can to raise my vibration. That might be using certain crystals for protection, using power shield and astral clear, essential oils and essences. Putting salt above the doors and across the front door is something I do, I also have a wind chime in the hallway that helps to break up the energy in that area. But I always make sure I really ramp up my self-care.

Keep affirming that you are safe and protected.

DO NOT go into fear if you feel you’re under psychic attack as you are then giving more energy to the situation that you are wanting to release.

PSYCHIC VAMPIRES AND ENERGY VAMPIRES

That sounds really really scary, doesn’t it? But they may be friends who are going through a particularly bad time in their lives and they are feeling low and you pick up on that energy because you’ve not put good boundaries in place.

An example of this is if you go to see them and you’re feeling good when you arrive but when you leave, they feel better and you feel absolutely drained and feel like shit and literally, as if you’ve had your life force energy drained from you (which you most probably have)

This is especially true if you’re an empath or sensitive to the feelings of others. This can be a form of unintentional psychic attack.

It is your responsibility to know who drains your energy and to act accordingly by protecting your energy. Someone who is ill and feels really sick may unintentionally take your energy. They are not doing this on purpose so this is another reason to keep your protection ramped up especially in low vibrational energy places like hospitals, care homes, hospices etc.

There are also such things as power objects that can cause energy imbalances too. You might have inherited an object from someone and since that object (say for example a vase) has been in your house things start going wrong and you ‘feel’ that the energy in that room is out of kilter. You can check for these power objects by dowsing and testing to see if the object is a power object. If it is, then give it away. Get rid of it! If you are no longer friends with someone or an ex-partner for example, you may want to get rid of the things that they gave to you especially if the friendship/relationship ended in a bad way.

Houses can be imbued with negative energy, think of builders, say for example who were being poorly paid for their hard work, the energy they imbue into the building of the house can cause negative energy and negative thought forms which results in an unpleasant energy. Houses get sick too. Your house may be built on ley lines or have a lot of EMF around it that is detrimental to you. If something has happened in a house or building, say for example someone took their own life, then this energy can remain until it is cleared by someone who knows how to clear energy or if there was a lot of dis-harmony or domestic violence then the negative energy can remain there too.

This is specialist energy work and you may wish to ask someone who is able to do this to check your property and see what the problems are.

<3 REIKI ~ WHAT IS REIKI? <3

Today I’m going to tell you a little bit about Reiki and explain what it is and how it can help you in the most amazing ways.

The word Reiki is composed of two Japanese words – Rei and Ki. It is pronounced RAY KEE.

Rei is often defined as ‘Spiritual’ and Ki as ‘energy’, so roughly translating the Japanese word we get ‘spiritual energy’ or ‘universal life-force energy’

Ki is the non-physical energy that animates all living things.

Ki is flowing in everything that is alive including plants, animals and humans

<3 EVERYTHING IS ENERGY AND I MEAN EVERY SINGLE THING! <3

YOU are energy, I AM energy, animals are energy, objects are energy, the table, the chair, the ceiling the floor are all made up of energy.

So when we think of ourselves as being ‘energetic beings’ we can understand more easily that if there are any energetic imbalances within our body then we can become sick, or not function as we should.

That can affect our physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.

Think about this as an example, when you were a child and you hurt yourself and you went running to your mum and she kissed it better, that is actually a form of energy work!

If we have pains in our body, we instinctively hold our hands over our bodies where we hurt or where the pain is, and instinctively we know what to do. Again you are working with your own energy!

<3 Everyone can use Reiki <3

All you need is to learn how to do it and receive an ‘Attunement’ – where the Reiki Master gives the sacred energetic codes & symbols to the Reiki student and opens up their channels for the energy to flow through so they can perform Reiki. This is done on a 1-1 basis. Or I do it on a 1-1 basis. It can be done in person or distantly. When energy work is done ‘distantly’ it is called ‘remote’ healing, or ‘remote’ Attunements, ‘remote or distant’ healing.

Reiki is a non-invasive, completely benign healing technique which has become THE MOST POPULAR energy healing modality.

As Western medicine continues to explore alternative methods of healing, Reiki is destined to play an important role as an ACCEPTED & RESPECTED healing practice which is now widely used in hospitals and hospices.

<3 SO WHAT IS REIKI GOOD FOR? <3

Reiki reduces stress, illness, emotional and physical dis-ease.

<3 WHAT HAPPENS DURING A REIKI SESSION? <3

During a Reiki session, the practitioner places their hands on or above the client’s body and they activate the energy so it starts to flow from their hands. They place their hands over specific areas of the body BUT the energy will go EXACTLY where it is needed. Reiki is a really intelligent energy and it’s a beautiful energy to work with.

<3 INTENTION is vital during ALL modalities of energy work, remember even our THOUGHTS are energetic so you always set the INTENTION that the Reiki is used for the highest and greatest good of all concerned.

It is also really important to remember that we are only CHANNELS or VESSELS for the Universal Life Force Energy to flow through. <3

<3 CAN I FEEL ENERGY? YES, YOU CAN, TRY THIS:- <3

Rub your hands together briskly, then put your hands in front of you with your palms facing each other, (as if you are going to clap), slowly, very slowly push your hands together and slowly move them apart. As you do this, you will find a ‘resistance’ type of feeling, keep doing it and you will find that you can really ‘feel’ the energy between your hands……

This is energy, you can now feel the energy!

Try the exercise again and try to mould that energy into a ball. If you’ve done that, you’ve made a chi ball (a ball of energy)

<3 WHO CAN LEARN REIKI? <3

Anyone can learn Reiki, absolutely anyone and when you can use Reiki you can use it for every single thing in your life, (as I mentioned before), you can send Reiki to your food, your drinks to infuse them with healing energies, you can send it to objects like your car, (so it starts up) you can make a huge reiki chi ball and place it completely around your home – may be so nothing goes wrong with your home or to keep it protected and safe – Reiki can be used on crystals, technology, relationships, projects, your house. It will work on everything and anything, how amazing is that?

Animals are very energy sensitive. I have 6 cats & 2 dogs and whenever I do Reiki they gravitate towards me. I often give my furbabies healing when they are sat on my lap or beside me. When they have had enough they get up and move away. You can also give Reiki to wild animals and that’s a lovely thing to do.

Plants and trees love Reiki. I often re-energise my plants & flowers. If I see a plant wilting I will send some energy & in no time it’s thriving again.

Water (infuse it with Reiki energy) – I ‘Reiki’ my water and my food. It can all be infused with the universal source energy.

Crystals can also be charged & infused with Reiki energy.

So to re-cap, Reiki can be used on crystals, technology, relationships, projects, your house, it will work on EVERYTHING with your intention of healing.

Reiki is like a muscle the more you use it the stronger it becomes.

<3 IS IT SAFE TO USE REIKI ON PREGNANT WOMEN, CHILDREN & BABIES? <3

It is safe to use Reiki on children and pregnant women & babies. It is 100 % safe & totally natural.

Reiki can do NO HARM whatsoever.

You can also use Reiki to help people pass over to the other side when they are dying (or making the transition). It is now widely used in many hospices and hospitals.

When you get more advanced in energy work you can also use energy work to help lost souls (attachments) or whatever you like to call them to transition smoothly.

REIKI BOXES AND INTENTIONS

You can write your AFFIRMATIONS AND INTENTIONS on paper and put them into a Reiki Box and send healing to your Reiki Box on a daily basis.

You can put people’s names in the Reiki Box who need healing and send healing to the Reiki Box with the intention that it is going to the relevant people.

You will see significant changes in all areas of your physical, emotional and spiritual health & wellbeing if you use Reiki on a regular basis.
