MY MORNING RITUALS

MY MORNING RITUALS

MORNING ROUTINES & RITUALS

I thought today I’d share with you what I do each morning.

By doing my little morning ritual it makes a huge difference to my day because when I do my ritual I generally have a great day and I’m in the right mindset and I feel calm, balanced and positive about the day ahead.

We all know what it is like when you jump out of bed and rush out the house after pressing the snooze button a few too many times and the snowball effect that can have ~ you can’t find your keys, you spill coffee on yourself, you get caught up in traffic and end up frazzled and a stress head before you’ve even really started your day.

To avoid doing this I’ll let you into a secret and how I make my mornings 100 times better.

I get up a little earlier than anyone else in the house so I’ve got about 30 mins to myself.

I light a scented candle and I ground and protect myself.

I listen to a short guided meditation and set my intention for the day.

I use Affirmations, crystals, essential oils or essences (all the goodies in my energy kit), whatever I’m drawn to help me through the day.

I choose an oracle card for the day

I practice ‘deliberate gratitude’ for all the blessings in my life by writing them in my journal.

I send a blessings ball of light to the planet, humanity and all the animal kingdom. It is so very easy to do a blessing ball of light. Simply rub your hands together, visualise a person you want to send this precious gift to, then simply visualise this person totally encased in a bubble of the highest vibrational white light and intend that you are sending love to that person and it is done. I do this on a regular basis and sometimes I have to smile to myself because someone might message me and say ‘hey I felt something warm and fuzzy today, did you do anything or send me any healing?’ and I tell them that I did send them a blessing ball of light. It’s something that takes only a few minutes but it’s such a lovely gift to pass on. My version of paying it forward but with love.

By doing these simple things that take no longer than 20 mins, I know that I’m going to have a great day from the outset.

Have you got any little routines or rituals that you’d like to share to help others?

7 WAYS TO SEND DISTANT HEALING TO AN ANIMAL, PERSON OR PLANT

7 WAYS TO SEND DISTANT HEALING TO AN ANIMAL, PERSON OR PLANT

7 Ways to send healing energy to an animal, person or plant.

Our thoughts are powerful. So strong that it’s often enough only to think of someone to send him a small stream of energy.

We are all energy beings and we all have energy that flows within and around us. When we become aware of this energy and its potential, we can use it for healing the people that we care about and aid the healing of the whole world.

Being able to send energy is not a privilege or a talent. As a matter of fact, we can all do it and as long as we are open and sure whom we would like to send healing energy there should be no problem.

Here’s how to send healing energy to another person, animal or plant from a distance.

1. Prepare the space

Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed.

Try to ensure you have enough space and make sure to be clean.

2. Calm your mind

To calm your mind take a few deep breaths…keep inhaling and exhaling for some time and then set your intention to send healing energy.

You can even say the name of the person to whom you are sending healing energy out loud.

3. Raise your energy

To send a positive air healing energy, start to rub his hands in a circular motion until you feel the energy between them.

You should be able to feel the pulse of energy from the hands when you pull them slowly.

4. Make a ball of energy

Once you feel the energy flowing through your hands, imagine how you are shaping it into a sphere. You can also give these energy balls color, depending on the type of healing you want to send:

Blue: emotional healing
Orange: physical healing
White: spiritual healing / general healing
Green: heart healing
Purple: psychic protection

Focus your attention on this energy ball, visualize how it’s growing bigger, stronger and more powerful with every breath you take.

5. Send the energy

When you feel that your energy ball is strong enough, imagine how you are sending it to the person, plant or animal you chose.

You can even imagine how the person receives the energy and feels its pleasant healing effect.

6. Recharge your batteries

After you send healing energy, it is important to recharge your batteries by grounding the energy. This could include a walk in nature, meditation or taking a relaxing bath.

Sending healing energy to another person is a very powerful tool and a great way to help others when you can not be physically with them.

7. A couple of important things to remember

  • The quality of your healing energy depends on you, so avoid sending it when you are physically ill or feel emotionally drained.
  • It is not necessary to inform the person you are sending healing energy to that you are doing it, but if you tell him or her about it, they might be more open to receiving the energy.
  • Healing energy must be sent with love. If you feel any negative emotions towards the person you are sending the energy to, stop.
  • Whatever you send returns to you – times three. This means that no matter what kind of energy you send out into the world, it will come back to you three times stronger.

Distance healing is a valuable and powerful tool that anyone can learn to use. So, if someone you know needs a  dose of healing energy, try sending them some.

RAISE YOUR VIBRATION USING THE 5 REIKI PRECEPTS

RAISE YOUR VIBRATION USING THE 5 REIKI PRECEPTS

Raise Your Vibration Using The Reiki Precepts

Introduction

As part of our Level 1 Reiki training, we are certain to learn of Usui’s precepts and the benefits that these bring to our lives as we start to apply them daily.

When I’m teaching, I love to explain how the precepts can gradually change our way of thinking and acting/reacting as we apply them on a daily basis.  I also like to emphasize what my original Reiki teacher told me, on my Level 1 course, about how very clever Usui was by adding the simple preface of “Just for Today” before each precept making them attainable for us all.

But today I awoke with a very specific thought about how the precepts can help raise our vibration.

How The Precepts Affect Our Vibration

As we know the precepts begin:

Just for today…

  • Do not be Angry
  • Do not Worry

Worry and Anger are both low vibrational emotions.  In fact, as far as the spectrum of emotion goes, they’re pretty much the bottom of the pile (except for despair and hopelessness).

So, it’s no wonder that Usui then went on to add…

Just for today…

  • Be filled with Gratitude

This is a far more positive emotion and one that is far higher on the vibrational scale.

The fifth precept also states…

Just for today…

  • Be kind to people and yourself

What is this teaching us other than to show compassion and love for everyone (and by extension, everything) and very important to ourselves?  The emotions of love and compassion are pretty much the top of the pile when it comes to vibration.

A Way to Apply This in Daily Life

Daily we are bombarded by news of things that are focused on the negative.  That is focused on bringing down our level of vibration. Even if you avoid newspapers and news programmes you will not be able to escape the barrage of information about the terrorist threat, climate change and Brexit etc.

Think about that for a moment.  What is that potentially doing to your vibrational state?

Over my lifetime there has been a constant supply of such fear-inspiring issues: Cold war, the threat of global nuclear destruction, oil running out, global financial crises, housing market crashes and the list goes on and on.

Looking back at my own life, for more than four decades, this led to me living in a state of fear and trepidation.  For example, as a child, I had repeated nightmares about war!

When we live predominantly in this emotional state it weakens who we are.  It suppresses us as individuals. It stops us from reaching our real potential and living a contented and fulfilling life.  This is a HUGE deal! We cannot, MUST not, allow this to be the case!

So, what if we connect all of these kinds of negative emotional triggers to our five Reiki precepts?

If we do, then we will no longer worry about them.  We will no longer be angry about what is happening around Mother Earth.  Instead, we will be moved by LOVE and COMPASSION and act on that basis. As we do, we move and act from a far more empowering emotional standpoint.  AND, through our example, we lead others to do the same!!

Conclusion

So, Just for Today, can we avoid acting from fear and anger?

Can we move to a place where we never act from worry or despair?

If we can, then we can become moved and motivated by LOVE, by COMPASSION, and a desire to help mankind and this beautiful planet upon which we live from a far more empowered stance.

Hope this has helped you today.

ANATOMIC ILLUSTRATIONS FOR REIKI

ANATOMIC ILLUSTRATIONS FOR REIKI

There is something beautiful about all scars of whatever nature. A scar means the hurt is over, the wound is closed and healed, done with. – Harry Crews

Reiki with its infinite wisdom goes to the place in the body that requires healing. That is why Reiki is so easy to learn and apply. There is no need to study the anatomy of the human body or animals to treat a person or animal successfully. You simply place your hands on the body and channel the energy. Reiki will do the rest.

However, it can be helpful to know where the major organs, lymphatic and endocrine systems are in the body. This knowledge will allow you to treat specific problems or organs quickly and easily.

The following illustrations are simple diagrams of the human anatomy. If you decide to further your studies we recommend that you make full use of your public library. They will have books on human anatomy as well as books on the anatomy of various pets and animals. Of course, the internet and the World Wide Web offer a multitude of FREE information and any good search engine will open up a doorway to many excellent guides to the anatomy.

Anatomic Illustrations for Reiki – The Endocrine System

This system consists of the ductless glands that release hormones. It works together with the nervous system in regulating metabolic activities so that homeostasis is maintained.

There are a few primary endocrine glands:

  • The pituitary gland at the base of the brain
  • The thyroid gland in the neck
  • The four or five parathyroid glands in the tissue around the thyroid
  • The two adrenal glands above the kidney against the posterior wall of the abdomen
  • Certain areas of the pancreas near the stomach
  • The sex glands, or gonads (testes in the male and ovaries in the female)

Various hormones are released by the endocrine glands, with each secretion causing a different reaction in the body. These include the body’s growth rate, control of sex and reproductive functions, and the regulation of calcium and phosphate levels in the blood.

Anatomic Illustrations for Reiki – The Lymphatic System

The lymphatic system is a system of thin tubes that runs throughout the body. These tubes are called ‘lymph vessels’. You may also hear them called ‘lymphatic vessels’.

The lymphatic system is similar to blood circulation – the tubes branch through all parts of the body like the arteries and veins that carry blood. Except that the lymphatic system carries colourless liquid called ‘lymph’.

“Lymph” is a milky body fluid that contains a type of white blood cells, called “lymphocytes,” along with proteins and fats. Lymph seeps outside the blood vessels in spaces of body tissues and is stored in the “lymphatic” system to flow back into the bloodstream. Through the flow of blood in and out of arteries, and into the veins, and through the lymph nodes and into the lymph, the body is able to eliminate the products of cellular breakdown and bacterial invasion.

Two very large areas are of significance in this system – the right lymphatic duct which drains lymph fluid from the upper right quarter of the body above the diaphragm and down the midline, and the thoracic duct, a structure roughly sixteen inches long located in the mediastinum of the pleural cavity which drains the rest of the body. It is through the actions of this system including the spleen, the thymus, lymph nodes and lymph ducts that our body is able to fight infection and to ward off an invasion from foreign invaders.

Lymph plays an important role in the immune system and in absorbing fats from the intestines. The lymphatic vessels are present wherever there are blood vessels and transport excess fluid to the end vessels without the assistance of any “pumping” action. There are more than 100 tiny, oval structures (called lymph nodes). These are mainly in the neck, groin and armpits, but are scattered all along the lymph vessels. They act as barriers to infection by filtering out and destroying toxins and germs. The largest body of lymphoid tissue in the human body is the spleen.

7 GREAT BENEFITS OF MEDITATION

7 GREAT BENEFITS OF MEDITATION

There are numerous benefits to the daily discipline of meditation, many of which the majority of people simply aren’t aware of. However, by spending some time every day in meditation, you’ll be surprised at just how much long term good it will do your entire mind, body and spiritual being.

Here are just 7 benefits of meditation.

1. Stress Reduction

One of the biggest and most obvious benefits of meditation is a reduction in stress. As you meditate, you actually begin to get control over your emotions which can reduce feelings of anxiety. Since there are a huge number of people that are currently using anti-anxiety medications and the number keeps going up, it’s clear that anxiety is something that needs to be addressed.

2. Make Better Choices

One thing that many people have found once they start meditating is that it encourages them to live a healthier life. Some people are able to quit smoking just by meditating, and others simply begin to crave more natural foods. Imagine how much healthier you could be if taking some time to meditate was all that it took to give you a desire to eat healthily.

3. Improved Concentration

This is something that has been studied in depth by some researchers, and it has been discovered that people who meditate are not only able to concentrate better, but they’re also able to multitask much more easily, which means getting a lot more done in a shorter amount of time. As meditating allows you to centre yourself, you can better focus on everything you need to do.

4. Self-Acceptance

For many people, it can be hard to accept themselves, whether it’s accepting who they are as a person or physical problems. But either way, meditation can help you accept yourself as you are. This can then make you a better person and allow you to more confidently share yourself with others, leading to deepening of relationships.

5. Be Happier

One study that looked closely at brain activity during meditation found that meditation decreased activity in the right side of the brain where negative emotions are formed while increasing activity in the left side where positive emotions are produced. So in addition to greater self-acceptance bringing more happiness, your actual brain chemistry changes to make you happier.

6. Be Healthier

Another physical change that happens in your body as you meditate is that blood pressure is lowered as nitric oxide is released, which increases blood circulation. In one study, 2/3 of participants were able to lower their blood pressure through meditation enough that they were able to stop taking blood pressure medicine. Other studies show that the immune system is also boosted by meditation.

7. Reduce Ageing

Although there’s no evidence that meditation can lengthen your life, it does keep your brain from ageing. In fact, a study done at Harvard University showed that those who meditate have larger quantities of brain cells and their brains actually physically stopped ageing. It’s uncertain exactly what causes this, but it’s clear that meditation has a profoundly positive impact on the brain.

I hope you find these 7 reasons for meditation useful.

MY TOP 3 TIPS TO REDUCE STRESS/ANXIETY

MY TOP 3 TIPS TO REDUCE STRESS/ANXIETY

The world and how we live, communicate and interact has changed forever. Although we all still have 24 hours each day to work, socialize, play, relax, study, grow and enjoy time with our family and friends; we are bombarded by so many outside sources and influences all fighting for our time and attention, that it can become overwhelming and very stressful… unless we take the time to control and reduce the everyday stress that we are all exposed to.

Taking the time to learn how to deal with and reduce everyday stress is something that everybody should invest in for the sake of their own health and well-being. It is a well-known fact that our health can suffer from the effects of stress, which in turn can also make it difficult to think clearly enough to solve even the simplest of tasks and function productively each day. The good news is that there are a number of easy techniques for reducing your stress which we will cover here in this article.

As more studies show almost daily, the link between stress and so many health problems; stress management becomes an important consideration for many people. The following 3 stress management tips can help you to reduce the levels of stress in your life, so consider embracing them into your daily life.

Stress Reduction Tip 1: Massage and Reiki

Treat yourself to a massage. This is a great way to reduce and manage your stress levels. Massage has often been thought of as a great way to relieve sore muscles, but it can also reduce overall body tension, anxiety and stress too. There are a lot of studies that prove massage is a great way to reduce stress when done regularly. There are many different types of massage, so you should try several kinds and find the one that you prefer. Nowadays it’s not usually hard to find qualified massage therapists. Massage can release endorphins in the brain which produce pleasure which is helpful in not only stress reduction but also helpful for emotional issues such as anxiety and depression to name but a few.

If you cannot find a local Masseuse then you can also try a self-massage after maybe a hot bath, or get your husband, wife or partner to give you a massage. You could add reiki into the mix, by placing the reiki symbols into your hands or the hands of your Masseuse, and ask that reiki flows through your/their hands during the massage.

You could also add Reiki to any essential oils you may use during the massage, by placing your hands around the jar or container. This is very useful if you are getting a massage from someone who is not already attuned to reiki.

Stress Reduction Tip 2: Relaxation Techniques and Reiki

Most of are already aware of several different methods of relaxation that can have a very positive impact of reducing stress. Some of the most popular modalities for relaxation are basic mediation and the various forms of yoga. You can easily learn meditation or yoga to relax and reduce stress either by taking online home study courses or in person at a local workshop.

There are also other options for these major relaxation techniques. A simpler and more straightforward option would be to learn deep breathing techniques. You can use these even when you are sitting at your desk at work or on a bus or train on the way to and from work. Progressive muscle relaxation and mental imagery are other popular basic relaxation techniques you can use to reduce everyday stress.

Once again, Reiki can be added to the mix to enhance your relaxation exercises or modalities. For example, if you were practising muscle relaxation or mental imagery, you could intend and imagine the healing white light of reiki flowing through your body, to every muscle, tissue and cell from the very tips of your toes to the top of your head, bringing waves of healing, relaxation and rejuvenation.

Stress Reduction Tip 3: Exercising on Schedule

It’s just like what your physical education teacher always said. Maintaining a regular exercise schedule can do wonders for your body. The major benefit of exercise is that it can encourage the proper circulation of your blood. This, in turn, ensures that oxygen and nutrients reach the various cells in your body. You need these if you ever hope to prevent or fight off the bad effects of stress on your health.

Reiki can be used to aid in the recovery process after exercise through daily self-treatments. You can also add Reiki to your hot bath or shower after exercise to soak or wash away any fatigue after exercise.

Finally, in order to reduce your everyday stress levels, remember to get enough sleep and eating healthily.

I hope you find these suggestions helpful.
